TWA Lockheed L-049 Constellation Star of Ireland, with registration number N86516, which was in service from December 1956 to May 17, 1957 and sold, by TWA, in March 1962. This particular aircraft has been honored, by Corgi, with a 1:144-scale die cast model of it.

This photo and the next six photos show a recovery operation for an Eastern Air Lines Lockheed L-1049C Super Constellation, with registration number N6220C, that was destroyed by fire, on August 3, 1961, after its undercarriage collapsed, at Idlewild Airport (IDL), which is now the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), in New York City. It entered Eastern Air Lines service in December 1953 and was converted for cargo use in April 1960. This photo shows the aircraft and two of its engines, after they were removed.
